Have you ever heard of reversed yellow pages? If you haven’t then here is a small glimpse of what this is and how can it help you in your everyday lives. Traditional yellow pages would usually give you a person’s landline number or an address given that you know the name of the person or the establishment that you are looking for; but what if it was the other way around. You have the number but no name attached to it. This is where reverse yellow pages come into the picture. It helps you do a thorough search with just a phone number in hand.

Reverse yellow pages are available over the Internet. The only thing you need to do is to correctly type in the correct phone number, click the search button and the results will be displayed in your screen after a few seconds. Bear in mind that you must enter in both the area code number and the seven digit landline number for the search to be correct. Double check the digits you enter. A wrong number will still give you results but they will be of a totally different person. If you fail to do this, you could get erroneous results without even knowing it.

But in cases where you do need to use traditional yellow pages, there are now yellow pages sites that are available over the Internet. Unlike the hard copy version, these sites have the ability to make different searches for you. The first kind of search in these sites is the common name search. This kind of search would require you to type in the first name, the last name, your subject’s city, zip code and state. You can also do a search using an address (with the city, zip code and state). Another kind of search would be the area code search where you can make the search using the area code and finally, the zip code search using your subject’s zip code.

In reverse yellow pages, it only requires you to type in your subject’s phone number which is so much easier. In online sites, you have the option to do the search regardless of what basic information you have in you hand. Whether it is a name, an address or just a zip or area code. Either way, you are still given the chance to start a search. But always remember, the more information you give, the better. The basic information are not only used as keywords for the search, they could also serve to verify that the records you are looking at after your search actually belongs to the person and not just someone who happens to have a similar name with your subject.

You must also bear in mind that although these databases can give you a lot of information, they are still limited to some extent. If the person that you are looking for is not listed in the directory, then they would not be found in the database. Cell phone numbers and fax numbers also cannot be found in the database.
