Although we will agree that there are many ways to making money on the Internet in this article we want to talk about 7 steps that you can take to guarantee your success. These are not hard and anyone can do them with a little bit of hard work and education.
1. The first thing you'll need to do is decide on what the theme of your business is going to be about. This could be anything from cooking and fishing to music or sports. It'll be more fun for you if it's something you have an expertise in or a passion for.
2. Secondly you want to buy a domain name that reflects what your site is about. It is possible still to purchase good domain names, although you may have to use more words than in the old days when you could buy one and two word domain names.
3. The third thing you need to do is arrange for a hosting company. This is extremely important because if your business is not online, you have no business.
4. Now you need to start a blog. This may be a more important than actually having a website because blogging is extremely easy to maintain and get traffic to. It is to your benefit to host your own blog and to use a quality blogging platform such as Word press.
5. In this step, you are going to develop a landing page or a splash page. This is nothing more than a page that you will promote to capture contact information for future follow-up with your prospects.
Your landing page or splash page will contain a sign-up box where your visitors will give you their information in exchange for you providing something of value such as a free report or e-book.
6. You will need an auto responder to store your prospects information in. This auto responder will also need to be set up with a series of messages that pre-sell some of the products that you sell on your blog.
One of the most important assets an Internet business can have is their own e-mail marketing list. For this reason it is important that you use a quality autoresponder such as Aweber or to store your names and follow-up with.
7. Once you get these six things set up you will spend the majority of your time now adding content to your blog and advertising your blog or splash page. Traffic is the key and you can never have too much of it.
