Are you looking for a way to fill up your bed & breakfast? Then get the business travelers interested in what you offer! If you have been focusing all of your efforts on those traveling for fun or romance then you are missing a huge portion of the market. Business travelers often do so during the week and they often long for a great place to stay. Your bed and breakfast may be perfect.
One of the common complaints about owners of such businesses is that it is very hard to get the placed filled up during the week. Yet they have to turn down reservations for the weekends. With the business travelers though you can easily remedy this situation. They will generally be leaving back out by Friday and so it won't prevent your weekend guests from getting their stay too.
Most of us like to travel from time to time, but if you do it as part of your job it can become something you dread. Living out of a suitcase and eating out all the time isn't what it is all cracked up to be. When a business person finds a great bed & breakfast though they can enjoy delicious home cooked meals and a very comfortable room to stay it. What a refreshing change that ends up being for them.
With this in mind, you may want to offer discounts to those that stay at your bed & breakfast for business. It can be a percentage off each stay or maybe a free stay after they have accumulated a certain number of them. If your prices are lower or comparable to the hotels in the area then there is no reason why they wouldn't want to come stay at your bed & breakfast.
Make sure you are marketing to this sector as well. They may not have considered even staying with you until they come across it. Since so many people search for rooms online for their business travel make sure your information is there too. Have plenty of business cards on hand for them to take back to the office as well.
It is important to keep customers coming into your bed & breakfast. That is the only way you are going to make enough money to stay in business. You need to have multiple steams of advertising out there. This way you are reaching people from all backgrounds. You also want to make your business wonderful in every way possible. This will ensure more repeat customers so you don't have to rely on finding new guests all the time.
Since many more people travel for business than for pleasure, you are doing yourself a huge disservice by not appealing to them. Being away from home for work can be difficult when it happens all the time. Do your part to make the process easier on those that need a good place to stay.
Make sure you look into this is it isn't something you have already implemented. It can mean the difference between your bed & breakfast being a success one year from now or being closed. Plenty of people are looking for great places to stay while they travel for business. If you get the word out then they won't always be going to the motels in town.
