Accessories used with satellite radio include car cassette adapters. These are good and reasonable solutions in order to get external player working in cars with radios or cassettes without line in. in an in-dash cassette deck is present then they a cassette adapter can be used to get the sound from satellite radio tuner to the receiver that is dashed in. This cassette adapter can be connected to a satellite radio through cassette tape deck. Very clean sound with little noticeable noise is produced by the cassette adapters. Few satellite radios need special steps, which are listed in car manuals, so that the adapters can be made to work. If the adapter is made to work then cassette adapter can be prevented from ejecting. This forces the tape deck to stop turning the tape wheels and which results in decrease of noise.
Function of car’s or home’s antenna is to receive the unscrambled signal sent by the satellite to the earth receiver. Installation and placement of antenna should be done with lot of care as wrong installation can decrease the strength of an antenna and hence destroys the quality of the signal. Few simple installation steps should be followed which ensure a strong signal and the best signal reception in the home and in the car. Home antennas are weather proof so should be placed outside on roof because signal losses are inversely proportional to the view of sky. An antenna extension cable is required for placing the antenna. This should be done by following the map provided to decide the direction in which antenna should be placed. Antennas can also be placed outside of a window or can be mounted on the side of the house. This gives antenna a clear view of the sky. It is better to place the antenna near the window as boosted signals from terrestrial repeaters can be received.
