A pharmacist sells medicines from the boutique directly to customers. You don't see doctors buy medical supplies in pharmacies and bring it to the hospitals. So who supplies the hospitals this medicines, if not a pharmacist? It is the medical representative. What then, do you call the one who sells medicines to doctors?
Generally, medical sales jobs involve selling medical supplies. Selling medicines is about selling supplies that range from services such as nurse consultation to medical equipment and tools. If you have a medical sales job, you are called a medical representative. You will function as the link between a medical or health care professional and the sales companies. How to increase the awareness and information of the available medical products or equipment of a company is a medical representative's job. If you are one of them, you will contribute in setting better general practices in hospitals and care trusts.
As you identify the needs of your client, you will set another meeting. This is your chance to present the product or service your company is offering. You should convince your client and make him or her believe that your product or service is a cut above other competitors. Since you need to do this, you have to learn about the services and products offered by competitors. You should know the competitor's strengths and weaknesses.
Granted that the sale has been successful, your next move is to make sure that the service or product reaches your client on time and of course, with utmost efficiency. This way, you are taking care of your customer effectively. One sign that your customer is happy with the service is if he or she continues working with you so if you don't want to quit your job, continue making your clients happy.
