This third release in the Sony game consoles line is part of the PlayStation series from this innovative world leading company. It was launched in the last quarter of 2006 and has been met with enthusiasm by gamers who are constantly on the lookout for more power, faster consoles.
The PlayStation 3 graphics are said to be better than ever before giving better realism to the gameplay. PlayStation 3 can connect to the Internet through the PlayStation only Network allowing others to play against each other, as well as having high quality multimedia capability.
The new Blue-ray Power
The use of Blue-ray disc technology as one of its primary storage mediums has allowed increased storage which allows more quality in the graphics. Blue-ray disc allows high quality graphics as well as better sound than most others.
This makes the game graphics real which gamers are always looking for the most realistic experience possible. The quality of almost real graphics of game play is amazing. Other gaming consoles have yet to catch up.
At the same time, many others have had comments saying that the graphics are not as good as they could be. Some gamers are looking at it for another angle: they simply want realism and quick life like reaction times, in the gaming environment.
Extensive Graphics Hardware
PlayStation 3 graphics technology is supplied by NVIDIA. They are well known for high power PC video cards for gaming PCs. Both Sony and NVDIA have brought more realism to the PlayStation 3 graphics and gameplay.
The RSX or reality synthesizer is the main reason for this new degree of graphics in this particular gaming console. It is one of the most complicate processor for graphics ever made and combined with new Cell technology, it will result to fast real time graphics and faster 3D gameplay. At a unveiling at technology show, The NVIDIA showed RSX would be more powerful than two GeForce 6800 Ultra video cards combined.
The new NVIDIA graphics power can give resolutions of 480i/576i SD up to 1080p HD. PlayStation 3 graphics has 256 MB XDR in the main memory and around the same in the RSX video memory.
The PlayStation 3 graphics are a major advancement in technology. Sony has worked well NVIDIA to get more power into the already powered graphics machine. These advanced in gaming power and complex displays allow Sony to provide the better gaming environment, increasing realistic gameplay and enjoyment of the games that come in the future.
