There is a wide selection of fast remote control cars that one can choose from. There are some which are powered by gasoline and able to reach speeds ranging from 50 to 60mph and there are others which can reach speeds of between 70 and 80mph.
Generally the kinds of fast remote control cars that can reach speeds as mentioned above are those known as nitro remote control cars and which are powered by a fuel containing nitro methane. It is this fuel that gives the cars the power and speed and which produces such speeds that they travel at.
The most popular types of nitro cars are those which looking like touring cars but are 1/10th of the scale of their real ones. However, although these cars go fast the problem is actually handling them when they are racing round bends and curves, because nitro methane is a very heavy fuel and so it causes problems with the cars balance.
If you are intending to get any of these kinds of fast remote control cars you need to learn the correct way of preparing them before you use them. Don't think that for one minute you just have to put the fuel in and then start the engine. It takes a little more than that and the first thing you need to do is prime the engine with fuel. Once the engine has been primed in order to get the glow plug started you need to attach a glow start to it.
Although most good quality nitro remote control cars do come with a glow start some don't and this is something you will then need to purchase. After you have attached the glow start now the recoil starter can be pulled. The recoil starter needs to be pulled back quickly and released as soon as the engine has started. Be careful when pulling on the recoil as too much effort and the spring on it could become damaged.
Normally it only needs you to pull on the recoil starter once in order to get the engine started as long as it is done properly, however there may be times when you need to do this a second time. If problems arise the first thing to do is check the fuel and air mixture is correct and then once the engine is running you will have to adjust this. The only way you can tell if the engine is running properly is by listening to the sound it makes.
As these kinds of fast remote control cars come with engines that function similar to the ones in the real cars then they need to be maintained properly. You need to have a good maintenance schedule in place to regular ensure that all parts within the engine are working correctly.
If you are considering purchasing any kind of fast remote control car you need to take into consideration not just the cost of purchasing the toy and fuel for it. But you will also need to take into consideration the cost of maintaining it. The better maintained such vehicles are kept then the more speed and more fun one will get out of them.
