Traditional Western medicine believes that there is a pill to cure everything. Nowhere is that thinking more prevalent than in America where people apply about as much thought to using prescription medicine as they do to buying a new pair of sneakers. Most physicians are more inclined to prescribe pills than to get to the root cause of what's ailing you. Pharmaceutical companies are more than happy to supply you with the drugs, because they make billions each year on all those new cures and breakthroughs they're giving you. With all those pills come a number of adverse reactions that are well known by the prescription industrym but are ignored to the tune of 100,000 or more deaths reported yearly.
Cure or Cause?
There appear to be thousands of diseases out there, if not more, and a pill for all of them. Simply of all of the deaths coming about ascribable to the drugs that are said to cure them, how are these helping? A lot of of the leading diseases are on the rise including diabetes, heart conditions, cancer and the like. Increasingly people perish from these annually despite the numerous alleged advancements being made in the medical arena.
Prescription Medication Side Effects
There are a number of harmful side effects when using prescription medication, some of them mild and some really adverse including:
insomnia impaired ability to drive a car liver damage inability to absorb certain nutrients dependency increased risk for heart attack or cancer kidney damage stroke risk loss of hair ...and death!
Is There Hope Out There?
With all these possible side effects and more, is there not a better way? Of course there is! For years, people have been saying to pay attention to what you eat. Living a healthy lifestyle, eating raw foods, reducing stress, and creating a normal exercise routine are all key to a quality lifestyle. While this may not be as exciting as the new fad diet everyone's talking about or going to the doctor and getting a quick fix. it seems that, despite all the advances in technology, the oldest advice is still the best. You are what you eat.
Diets just don't work
There's no magic formula to instantly improve your health. Forgetting the diet is the best thing you could do for yourself. Change won't happen overnight. The best way to see a lasting healthier lifestyle is to start making small changes, and gradually work yourself up to a full routine. Calorie cutting isn't the only thing involved. You'll want to get rid of processed foods from your diet as soon as you can. Usually supermarket produce is genetically altered and grown with pesticides, so you want to check that. Wax on apples and grocery stores have already been linked with cancer.
Manage Stress with Proven Techniques
Scientific studies have shown that there is a link between stress reduction and regular meditation. You can take a free class in almost any major city, and if you can't find one. There are many guided meditations available online. Start by meditating about five minutes per day, and include some deep breathing. It will amaze you, the difference you'll feel by meditating just five minutes a day.
The truth is, no matter what you decide, prescription drugs have many dangerous side effects. Achieving optimum health is easy if you eat right, reduce stress and add exercise to your daily routine.
