As for the counter space, you will find that it is very important that you use a lot of space in order to prepare the foods for cooking, however, when you are dealing with a very small kitchen, you will need to keep the kitchen counter spaces clear. That means you will need to leave just a few things out on the counter and place everything else in the cabinets. This will give you the illusion that the space is bigger than it actually is.
Also when it comes to things like the utensils and pots or pans, you will want to consider having things placed on the wall. Having a handy pot dangling above your work space will allow you to keep things out and ready, but not necessarily in the way. There are many wall hangers or even ceiling danglers that will hold all your pots and pans. This usually is best if you have an island in your kitchen. You will also want to consider the fact that your lighting will make your room look good or small.
Things like cleaning and organization can make any home look good. You will also want to consider the fact that when you take the lighting into fact you will be able to control the illusion of size by simply having good lighting.
