TANZANIA STUDENT LIFE
On 18th September at 5 pm I arrived at Mwanjewa bus station where I arrived after the long journey from Dar Es Salaam. In fact I was enjoyed the journey though I was very tied because of the long journey, the road from Dar es slaam to Mbeya is very nice. It has lots of very green vegetation along the roadside. This really starts when you are entering the Iringa region and continues to the city of Mbeya.
Mbeya is among of the four big cities in Tanzania, the dominant tribe of this city is Nyakyusa, though there are other tribes such sa Bena, Hehe, Kinga and so on , who are coming from the near region Iringa. The city of Mbeya is Located at the southern highlands, hence the climate of this area is very cool, especially during the month of April to July, also the area received heavy rainfall in many period of the year, especially in December to January, the area also has many valley which cause cold in the city. The land around mbeya is very nice for farming but not much nicer for large buildings because it has earthquakes.
The Tanzania Institute of Accountancy is the among the few collage located in the city of Mbeya, other colleges are Mzumbe (Morogoro branches), Mbeya Institute of Technology etc. Tanzania institute of accountancy is situated near to all of these aforementioned colleges as well as at the centre of Mbeya. The college is surrounded by a little green forest which has cool weather throughout, not only the but also it consist good building with the nice flower, it do not consist large building as other collage do.
Because I was very excited toward entering the college, at the first time I reached the college it was very fantastic to because i started the new life style. In the college I met with many unexpected friend whom I loosen when I was a-level, and o-level not only that but I met with new friend from the collage who are mostly my roommates.
But the thing which made me very sad when I reporting in the college is to miss the campus hostel, this is because I was afraid of walking dairy distant so as to early the lectures, but fortunately the college administration were sending as to the private hostel nearly to the college about 250m, the which we live is the nice one because it contain all services, such as water electricity and other accommodation except food accommodation, which take nearly to the hostel. In general the food in the collage compound is very expensive compared to the other area, so this made us to go outside the hostel to take food, but this is only during the afternoon and morning but during the night we have to take food in the campus restaurant. Normally I using about 4000 thousand per day for the meals.
In the first time t enter in the lecture’s room I was very excited to ward the subject, but after the first teacher to I adopt the situation and hence I relaxed, the fist teacher was of the being Business mathematic, he mentioned the topic to cover in then fist semester, I was very wonderful to see some topic which had studied when I was is a-level. I enjoyed the lesson. In the first lesson there were many people, until the administration decided to separate the students into two groups, the was arranged according to the alphabetical order, am in group B, we are studying 5 subject to every semester, and each semester consist of four month.
Normally we are using school stationary and library these are very small with limited resources, hence they very difficult to afford the population of the students, and this stationary do not match the status of college because it has not the enough machines with the internet so we have to go to town for the computer activities. The lecturers also advised us to buy books at the large library in the city. So as to fulfill the need of good performance.
About the socials life in the college the students teacher together with the nearly community have good relation, also about the entertainment our is very good participant in the sport and games there are al most all sport, but I normally participate little in basketball, this is because of limited time to participate in the exercises. Our school team is normally competes with our neighboring collage in sports and games.
In case of HIV, this city is the area in Tanzania for having large number of people who are effected by HIV this is according to the researchers, this is because of poor education of the people toward this disease, as well as poverty of many people, which leads them to enter in commercial sex.
