Many debates go on about the best affiliate marketing programs and no real winners are found so perhaps it is just best to stick with regular websites. Not many people understand just how much revenue is possible with affiliate marketing if you sent you mind to it. Other than a small (or large) website, often just one page is all that is required as long as it is designed for the product in question. Before you start you will need to have a product to market so how do you go about this task? To protect yourself, read the terms and conditions of the affiliate program you want to sign up for and if you do not agree wit them, move on to another product. If you are taking your business seriously then this is something you would do in the ordinary world so don't be fooled by the ease with which the virtual world appears to work. It is quite normal for certain companies that cannot send items to other countries to restrict where their members can live.
Unless you intend to have a massive turnover with a product, steer clear of affiliate programs with less than 50 percent commission payments. If you have never researched affiliate marketing before you can try to free web resources to find products and they are: google.com/trends/hottrends and Clickbank.com where you can also sign up for the programs using their own payment gateway. Almost all reputable affiliate programs will allow you to join them at no charge (not even an admin fee) so be very careful handing over money to any company that says you need to pay them a single registration fee. If you don't know what to do about payments then you would be well advised to choose one or both of the following programs: Clickbank or Paypal can both process payments from companies and registration doesn't cost a cent. Remember this is the early part of your affiliate marketing venture so you do not need (or want) to experiment unnecessarily; there will be plenty of time to do that when you are more established.
When you are new at marketing affiliate products there is a great deal to learn, but take heart as there are a huge number of free resources, ebooks and websites, to help just don't try to take in too much at once. These ebooks can be a mine of information and will contain many useful url's, however some will link to sites that want you to purchase something; whether you do or not is up to you. Many resources exist to help people earn an income online, some free and some paid but at the start it is advisable to use those without cost until you have actually earned something. This can benefit you because if the free programs etc. work for you, you are more likely to buy from the supplier at a later date.
Don't forget that many types of advertising still exist outside of the Internet and to be a successful affiliate marketer you must consider these also. The advertising only needs to direct people to your website where if it has been designed correctly, will do the work for you. One of the key to success that all top affiliate marketers use is tracking where their sales originate from and dropping those forms of advertising that do not work. The potential income that can be derived for affiliate marketing is huge with so many companies to choose from. Do not spend too much time learning about this because some people become permanent learners, never actually doing anything to ear money.
