Google has even established a dedicated Blog Search in its search engine as a way of addressing the fast growing popularity of blogs. Blogging has actually taken a life of its own and has transcended its initial life as an online diary. Corporations are now using blogs as a means to post corporate news and events that can be read by its workforce.
Recently, internet marketers saw the potential of blogs as a powerful internet marketing tactic. They realize that one of the biggest advantage of blogs is that it gets good search engine positioning because of its interlinking aspect as well as the regular fresh content. Search engines know that most blogs are updated regularly and this results in more favorable page rankings for the topic that it deals with. Blogging has also given media relations a new effective tool because bloggers are often recognized as the opinion leaders in the field in which they blog. When it comes to more in-depth marketing efforts, blogs can be used to promote a website directly or use the generated traffic to bring attention to an affiliate program like Google adwords to set up another income stream. Blogs can also be used for various promotions strategies. You can either launch your own blog to promote a service or, as previously mentioned, a website, or participate in ongoing blog discussions within relevant subjects or topics and then promote the service or website there by participating in the discussions.
