So you have heard the buzz, and you've heard the craze, but is there really any value in split testing, or is it just another buzz phrase touted by Internet Marketers?
Well the truth is split testing is by far one of the best ways to increase your productivity and most importantly your profitability.
Split testing provides you with the unique ability to literally test what your target audience likes most, and then increase your performance by using the results to improve your offers and future marketing efforts.
In a nutshell, split testing allows you to conduct a controlled experiment with your offers to help to see which factors make them perform better for your campaigns.
By split testing, you can take the information and make changes to help grow your business either directly though sales, or by using split testing to increase your conversion of visitors to prospects.
But don't be fooled, split testing might sound easy enough, however like any scientific experiment it requires you to know and use a very specific set of parameters to ensure that your split test results are valid.
If you browse the forums, you'll find hundred of posts of people giving advice on split testing, however you need to be cautioned that most of these people in these forums do not know the correct methods for split testing, and more often that not this misinformation can lead to serious losses within your business.
Split Testing on the face of it seems like the simplest of concepts; you throw together two page variations, stick this in some software and then basically wait for the result, however whilst the concept is easy, it's the formula that really counts and makes the difference between a valid split test, and an Invalid split test.
There are not to many great resources out there on the subject of split testing, however if you Google "How to Split Test" or Split Test Guide, there are a few that come up on the first page that are worth investigating.
So if you are serious about increasing your business through the use of split testing, then I highly recommend you do your research before simply following any old advice on split testing.
