For many of us, we cross path with all sorts of people in our daily dealings. The crimes we so often heard from the daily news and with the current high crime rate reported by the police, we cannot afford not to take precaution with people.

Fortunately, there is a practical and effective way for us to take some extra precaution on our own. It is to simply check out people by searching their Public Police Records. There are various related public records which are more specific in nature such as Arrest, criminal, Jail, Sex Offender, Inmates and Conviction but Free Police Records is a good category to start with.

All detention or enforced custody of any kind by authorities including the Military are entered and will remain as records regardless of the outcome of the arrest. That means dropped charges, acquittals, plea bargains, reasonable doubt and other situations that avoided conviction or incarceration will also be captured.

All these are Public Records. It is mandatory that they are made available to the public free-of-charge. Anyone can make use of them as long as procedures are followed. These days, you don't even have to go to the Police to conduct free public police records search. They are generally retrievable at State Repositories or Statistics Departments also and can even be purchased from commercial information brokers.

As with other categories, Public Police Records come in as free and paid versions. Free police records are mainly accessed from government agencies and tend to be entailed with bureaucracies and waiting period. Paid version cuts the red tape and come with professional quality and customer service for a fee. Competition is fierce in the industry so consumers get their money?s worth.
