The Samsung F480 Tocco is a 3G touchscreen phone with HSDPA 7.2Mbps for high speed data access. It has a 5 megapixel camera and a large 2.8 inch display with a haptic touchscreen interface.
Built from high quality materials, it has a flat face with a glossy black surround and comes with a wallet-style leather case to prove protection for the large touch screen. On the front of the phone you will find just 3 simple keys, one to answer all your important calls, another to navigate through the phone itself and the last to exit applications or to end a call. On the side of the phone; just like the LG Viewty and many other mobile phones in its class you will find a camera shortcut key, a volume rocker control as well as a hold key which locks the keys and screen.
This Samsung Mobile Phone uses the colourful, award-winning Croix touchscreen interface and provides haptic vibration feedback. The built-in music player is reminiscent of the iPod touch. Music can be played in the background while other applications are being used. A widget allows you to pause and skip tracks from the home screen as well as providing quick access to the full music player application. With about 230MB of internal memory there's enough space to store a decent selection of music. Memory can be expanded up to 8GB using a microSD card.
The size of the phone is not really an issue with a very compact design but for those who are used to a standard mobile phone you may find it takes a few days to get used to stretching your fingers and thumbs around the large 2.8 inch touch screen display but please be assured it’s a small price to pay for such and excellent and versatile device.
Other features of the phone include an FM radio with RDS, stereo Bluetooth, a brilliant organiser, a good web browser and course a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, video stabilisation and face detection. The face detection software is great; with most digital cameras you have to choose one major object to focus on but with this face detection software instead of focusing on just one face and the rest appearing not quite a sharp as you would like it detects each person’s face in the pictures and adjusts itself accordingly so with any look nice clear faces.
