The first step in harnessing this hot trend is to get the right kind of scarf. Winter’s over, so pack up and put away anything that is heavy or wider than six inches (unless it can be successfully folded to become narrower, without being bulky). Think linens, organza, silk, cotton…even synthetic fabrics do well. Just stay away from anything too thick.
Now, follow these guidelines for wearing the scarf in one of three ways this summer, and note how each can be used to attract a guy to your best feature.
What: Wear it around your head as a headband.
Why: To attract attention to your beautiful smile.
How: This style works best with your hair up, so start by pulling it all up into a ponytail or bun. Keep it tousled, in keeping with the loose and natural feel that dominates this summer’s runway. Take your scarf about 8 inches from the end, and hold it up against your head, just behind and under an ear of your choice. Use this point as an anchor as you wrap the rest of the scarf around your head (twice usually), coming back to secure the scarf with a tie at the anchor point. Tie the knot in the standard manner or with one loop, if you’re looking to lend it a further boost.
Why it works: The headband catches attention, and trails the eye downward your jaw area, showcasing your smile. The way the scarf narrows as it runs behind your head imitates and leads to the narrowing corners of your big ol’ smile, making it impossible to ignore.
What: Wear it around your neck as a necktie.
Why: To attract attention to your nape, neck and cleavage.
How: Wrap the scarf around your neck tightly enough to sit by itself on the lower half of your neck (not around your shoulders, and not under your chin). Tie either a classic knot, single looped bow, or uneven double bow at the spot below where you would go to check you pulse. If you decide to tie a simple knot, make sure one tail trails down in front, toward your chest.

Wrap the scarf around your waste one to two times depending on its length, and either tie it in a single loop bow, or let on end hang down longer than the other in a jaunty knot. Anchor the knot low at your hip bone, on either side you choose (approximately halfway between your centre and where your arm hangs down).
Why it works: There’s nothing sexier than curvy hips, and wrapping a scarf around them is a win-win situation. If your curves are extra sumptuous, the scarf cuts down the bulk visually; If you have a boy-like frame, the scarf adds depth. On top of this, having the knot offset to the side but still in front, leads the eye to the middle of your pelvis – the hot spot!
