Your bride will probably want to have a ring that complements her engagement ring when you go to choose your wedding rings. Often, well decorated platinum wedding rings may look good on but detract attention from the engagement ring so you may need to try a number of rings to see which suits it best. Wedding rings are still used in many societies as an expression of two people's love for each other. Many customs actually view the giving of the ring as the last in a number of gifts given to each partner.
Often these days this older tradition is replaced by the giving of an 'eternity' ring to show that the vows taken are forever. Personal engraved messages are not uncommon these days and they provide an individual feel. Not everyone likes plain bands so if your platinum wedding rings are a little bland for your liking, why not have a beaded edge engraved on either one or both, just as long as it suits your personality. There really isn't any right or wrong here providing you are both happy with your choice.
You must never forget how important this is and unlike any another piece of jewelry as it will not often leave your finger. Therefore, never accept anything but the best quality you can afford or find. The worst mistake couples make is buying inexpensive wedding rings, a decision they usually regret within a couple of years. Platinum wedding rings will be expensive anyway ad being a hard metal, it should last; however, they really need to fit well otherwise they will not look their best.
Having your fingers measured for the rings can be done when you choose the style you want; this will ensure there isn't a problem later on. There is always the possibility of a wedding ring sliding of one or both fingers at the ceremony or worse sill, not fitting at all. Having them adjusted will take time so give the jeweler plenty of time prior to the wedding. Once you have arranged the wedding day, choose your platinum wedding rings and arrange to have them adjusted; a rule of thumb says two months or more before the big day should provide a good safety margin.
No-one will complain about the number of styles available these days but it can increase the time it takes to choose. Both you and your partner should follow your instincts on your choice of platinum wedding rings while remembering that what looks good today might not be quite as fashionable in a few years time. This type of life changing statement means you should buy rings that reflect this and that you will feel proud to wear.
