Decide if you want to hire a wedding planner or consultant. Choose your date - the larger the wedding and more popular the reception locale the more time you need to book your reception.

Six-Eight Months: Go shopping for your bridesmaid dresses and mother of the bride dress. Choose your music for the wedding reception. Make reservations for your honeymoon and get your travel documents needed such as passport or visas. Send out save the date announcements.
Four-Five Months: Get your invitations. Select attire for groom and groomsmen. Select your wedding rings. Pick out wedding cake.
Three Months: Now is the time to delegate to your friends and family to help plan the rehearsal dinner. Confirm your invitations.
Two Months: Get your wedding invitations in the mail. Purchase wedding party gifts. Book yourself a salon day and choose your hair style and make up for your wedding day.
One Month to your perfect wedding day: Contact all vendors and confirm. Apply for your marriage license. Go over the seating chart.
Two-Three Days prior: Treat yourself to a full day at the spa. Pack for your honeymoon.
