Who has not seen the traditional white weddings that rely on yard upon yard of white tulle and other fabrics? Beautifully offset with pastel colors and in some cases even bold primary colors, the white always makes for the scenic wedding so many have grown up to dream of.
Yet a new player is quickly taking the bridal scene by storm and it is not playing around. The color black, not usually associated with the happy nuptials of a couple in love, is more and more frequently found in the color themes modern couples are beginning to select and while traditionalist may be wondering if this is truly possible to pull off, a plethora of examples prove that it is, indeed, not unheard of.
Whenever you find the colors black and white together, you are bound to find a certain air of formality and style that cannot be imitated with any other color combination. Take a look at any wedding picture that featured a bride in stunning white and a groom in a black suit and you can all but feel yourself drawn to the two people in the photo! There is something formal yet at the same time engaging about this color combination which makes it an actually quite wonderful accoutrement to your marriage celebration like the reading of engagement poetry.
Some attribute the sudden popularity of these kinds of celebrations to the scenic settings of the old Hollywood classics that had the grand dames of the time parading in white while the leading men were dressed in a black tux with the only splash of color being delivered by a single red rose in the lapel and perhaps also the bridal bouquet.
Many have chosen to take this theme a bit further and actually have found ways of incorporating it into the decorative theme of the room where the reception is to be held. In such cases it is not just the color combination that matters, but also the choice of materials which will play an integral role in making the blending of the two colors a rousing success.
Those with a penchant for the ultramodern may choose to go a different route and instead of picking a traditional wedding dress will opt for an alternative garment that combines the two colors. This may be a smart business style dress for her, and a more laid back black and white shirt and dress pants.
Even in this instance there are those who may choose to take this mode of dress to the max, and it is not unusual to find specifically tailored garments that feature intricate black and white patterns, some resembling a chessboard approach while others may be more in the form of interwoven mosaics.
