Based in San Diego, California -- the Chargers are a professional football team that was established back in 1960 when they were part of the American league Western division; this venture lasted about nine years (1969). From 1970 until today we have played under the American football conference West division. The Chargers home fields are and have been a loose Angeles Memorial Stadium, the Balboa Stadium and the QUALCOMM Stadium. The team owner is Alex Spanos, the general manager is A.J. Smith and the head coach is more Norv Turner.

The San Diego Chargers have had a great deal of accomplishments, they were the AFL champions in 1963, they have also been the American football conference champions during 1994 and have earned 13 division championships in both the AFL and AFC West divisions, these championships span from 1960 all the way to 2007. Even though the Chargers have not had the pleasure of being Super Bowl champions they surely are a team which is highly regarded in the NFL and that is constantly improving their roster.

It seems that just about every important player in other NFL teams are getting injured Philip Rivers is a quarterback who is coming back from knee surgery and has certainly impressed his teammates and coaches about his speedy recovery. Even though he seems to be recovering at a very fast pace the Chargers are being cautious about not pushing him to the limit in order to avoid complications related to his knee surgery. According to the head coach Turner, Rivers is doing a little bit more every other practice and it is Turner's goal to have him ready for the opening game.
The 2008 season is expected to be a great one for the San Diego Chargers as the team keeps improving and learning from their past experiences while key players recover from their injuries and become whole to once again deliver maximum efficiency as they did in the past.
