Ibiza has some of the most magnificent beaches in the World. Most people think of Ibiza as a party island. You may need to do a bit of driving around the island but you will discover some excellent and almost deserted beaches with white sands and clear turquoise waters.

The quietest beaches are in the north of the island. At the start of season you'll only get a couple of visitors on the beach. Renli de S'illot, Xarracca and Xuclar. Very few people venture to the north.

Cala Vadella overlooking Es Vedra is a really lovely bay. The water is completely calm and crystal clear, ideal for snorkeling or diving. You can hire jet skis, pedalos, relax and have a massage or go for a snack or meal at one of the excellent restaurants. Sundays here is particularly busy and parking can be a problem, but worth the effort. If you are a strong swimmer, it is possible to swim to Es Vedra

The beaches in Sant Antoni aren't up to much but don't worry if you don't drive. Take the boat from the marina to either Cala Bassa or Cala Conta [not Sundays] These are terrific beaches with great clean sand on long stretches of shallow water. Great for the family.

If you have to get on the beach in San An try and sit in front of Bar M. When the sun goes down pop around to the sunset strip and watch the jugglers.

Cala Salada is popular with the Spanish which means Sundays are busy. The food is very good here.
