The H. Upmann cigars can actually be found in two separate companies that share the same name. The first of these is manufactured in Cuba and the other is made in the Dominican Republic. The only thing that these two cigar companies really share is a name and when most people think of the H. Upmann cigar brand, they consider the one that is rolled in Havana, Cuba.

It all started back in 1844 on a cold night in Cuba. Well maybe it wasn't a cold night but that is just part of the whole history. No one really knows how it actually started, the H. Upmann brand that is. Their are a lot of stories that are behind the origination of this cigar but the most excepted one is about two German brothers moving to Havana. They happen to be cigar smokers themselves and fell in love with Cuban cigars.

The mystery behind the origin might be a good marketing tactic to utilize it's promotion, but it is the great taste and very unique I might add that has established into a Cuban cigar powerhouse. Overall taste or the range of cigars that are produced by this brand has soft to medium flavor. Since they produce so many different types of cigars, you can find hand rolled (Which real Cuban cigar smokers prefer) and machine rolled mini cigars too.

Because of the trade embargo that exists between Cuba and the United States, most people who live in the United States are never able to experience a true H. Upmann cigar. It is interesting to note, however, that there are some rumors that John Kennedy had his press secretary order him a large supply of H. Upmann cigars on the night before the trade embargo went into effect. This shows you the popularity of this particular cigar and if you ever have the opportunity to try one for yourself, you would no doubt agree that it is one of the better smokes that are available.

Again, this is one those prestigious Cuban cigar brand that has it's own strong following. People love the H. Upmann cigars and the people who do are mostly famous. The fans of this brand range from politicians, celebrities and people who hang out with them. The H. Upmann brand, especially over the years, have carved it's very own niche and rightfully so. The Cuban cigars produced by this brand are exquisite.
