I came to Fuerteventura almost three years ago now, and made it my home. I have to say, its the best thing that I have ever done. But the bad news is; I should have done it years ago.
I had a very good job in the UK, it paid well, and I loved it, but then all that ended, and I thought why not. I mentioned the "why not" to my girlfriend and within 5 weeks, we were here.
But this isn't the reason for my meanderings, no, it's because I love it so much here, and you will too, especially Caleta de Fuste.
Caleta de Fuste is not the biggest of towns; its set in a horseshoe cove and is just south of the airport. It has beautiful man-made and (more importantly) child-friendly beaches, plenty of bars for the adults, as well as loads of restaurants. And if you are worried about what to do with the kids; everyone here is expecting you to bring your family, so all bars and restaurants welcome them. The Fuerteventuran's are very family orientated.
The town itself is small and anywhere is within a good walk, or if you are not keen, or have had a night out and are "emotional & tired", well the cab service here is fantastic too, and you can get anywhere in the town for under 4.00.
The town has four main areas, the White Centre, Downtown, Chipmunk Mountain, and Atlantico; all these are spread out, but are not far from each other. Plus with the almost year-round sunshine, a stroll isn't such a hardship.
Come and see us in Caleta de Fuste & Fuerteventura, its a place of sunshine, white beaches, relaxation, and fun.
And if relaxing is not your thing, then check out the watersports we are so famous for: surfing, windsurfing, scuba, snorkeling, jet-skis, boat hire, excursions. I could go on, but I won't.
I'll see you there.
