You may wish to enhance the artfulness of your smoke by accompanying your cigar with another fine organic product, such as a single malt Scotch, cognac. Armagnac, or port. Just as the time to enjoy these spirits is typically after a fine organic products such as a single malt Scotch, cognac. Armagnac, or port. Just as the time to enjoy these spirits is typically after a fine meal, so too a cigar is an ideal digest if and goes nicely with any of them.
Choose the wrong cigar and scotch combination and your experience might sour. The idea is the combination to work seamlessly in conjunction so you can get the most enjoyment possible out of your cigar smoking experience. It really all depends on what kind of Cigar you like. Do you like a a strong tasting Cuban cigar that has a dark wrapper around it? Or do you prefer a much much lighter Cuban cigar such as the Fonseca.
Some people prefer a lighter scotch some people prefer a much stronger or maybe even something in the middle. The best thing is that you have to try what is best for you. A lot of people can make suggestions but only you know what your taste buds want. See if you like Cuban cigar smoking, always remember that you are the boss. It is your time and definitely all about your enjoyment. What I suggest is try Scotch from all four regions. Scotland is the obvious choice but don't forget to check out the other three.
Scotch is different as some are much weaker than the other. Try the weaker ones with a strong cigar and than you can taste both. The idea here is to try various combinations of Scotch and Cuban cigars and you will finally discover the one that is right for you. Aged cigars also go very well with medium to light Scotch. If you are completely new to this than most likely you are smoking a light cigar, than I suggest try a stronger cigar. It is all about contrast.
Beware though, drinking too strong an alcohol with a cigar may create a situation in which you are "Fighting fire with fire" as the single malt and the cigar struggle to dominate your palate. The key is to balance the tastes of each so that both can be savored and appreciated. Cigars and good Scotch go hand in hand. It is the perfect combination for any cigar connoisseur.
