Sheffield is in South Yorkshire, in the north of England. It is close to Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham and the Peak District. It’s a family-friendly city with a prosperous economy and relatively low cost of living. Sheffield obtained world-wide recognition during the 19th century for its production of steel. This fuelled an almost tenfold increase in the population during the Industrial Revolution. The city has grown from its largely industrial roots to encompass a wide economic base. Sheffield is England's fourth-largest city, with the wealth of facilities you would expect to find in a major city.
