A carbon footprint, according to environmentalists, is the person's impact on the environment in terms of the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Obviously, everyone will have a carbon footprint. The plea of environmentalists is to have a small carbon footprint as possible.

Adventurers, especially skiers, are listening to this plea. And this is why skiing enthusiasts like the idea of eco-skiing. And when it comes to eco-skiing, one of the favorite ski resorts to visit is the Puy Saint Vincent in France.

Famed skiing - with a green touch

Before the environmentalist theme began, the Puy Saint Vincent ski resort is already famous among skiers. The place, after all, is a part of the Grande Galaxie Ski Area. This means that a skier in Puy Saint Vincent will have access to more than 200 individual pistes and other ski resorts such as the Briancon, the La Grave, the Serre Chevalier, and the Les Deux Alpes. But why go to these other ski resorts when the Puy Saint Vincent has numerous ski runs and excellent snow conditions?

During summers, when nature does not produce enough snow, the ski resort utilizes seven snow cannons. There are 6 green runs, 14 blue runs, 12 red runs, and 2 black runs. All these imply that beginners will have plenty of opportunities to master their skills. The intermediate skiers will face more than enough challenging terrains. And there are a few steep slopes for the advanced skiers.

Great opportunities for all snow adventurers

For visitors who do not find skiing as the ultimate winter sport, the Puy Saint Vincent also offers opportunities for snowboarding, cross-country hiking, sledding, paragliding, ice climbing,Skidoo outings, and simply sightseeing. There is a gorgeous Snow Park where people can thoroughly enjoy their weeklong or weekend ski holiday. But the major reason for eco-skiing at this resort is the unparalleled panoramic scenery. The view of the majestic mountain ranges, tipped with glittering snow and nestled against clear blue skies, is simply breathtaking. It is a world that you want to keep. It is a world that you want to take care of. This is why the Puy Saint Vincent is a protected environment - a part of the Pays des Ecrins, which is a nature reserve.

Eco-friendly, yet luxurious, options

Within the Puy Saint Vincent ski resort, visitors will spend a carefree and leisurely mountain life. The locals are friendly and helpful. The accommodations are simple but comfortable. In many ski resort hotels, the accommodations, services, and amenities are even luxurious, at par with other five-star hotels around the world. But for an authentic eco-skiing experience, it is recommended that skiers stay in family-managed apartments that are usually located in the Vallouise Valley. There are also cinemas, restaurants, and local markets. And if visitors happen to come in late April, they will witness the exciting English Alpine Ski Championships. To reach this amazing holiday destination, visitors may reach the Turin airport and then drive a car for less than two hours.
