Adana is the capital of Adana province in Turkey; it is the fifth most populous city in Turkey after Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Bursa. Adana is rated among the 25 “European regions of the future for 2006/2007”; Adana scored the most points for cost effectiveness against Kocaeli points for infrastructure development. Adana is popular tourists location in Turkey, one of its attractive site is the Cilician plain, now known as the Çukurova plain, the large stretch of flat and fertile land which lies to the south-east of the Taurus Mountains.
