On day one, you will arrive in La Plagne and find a gorgeous vacation destination. It does not matter how you arrive. It can be by train, in which you get off the Aime station and take a 30-minute bus ride to reach this ski resort. It can be by Snow Train, in which you will be enchanted by the breathtaking splendor of the French Alps. Or it can be by plane, in which you will have a choice of four different airports to land in: the Chambéry Airport, the Geneva, the Lyons, and the Grenoble. Whichever way you intend to reach La Plagne, you will be welcomed by the gracious staff of your hotel, chalet, apartment, or rented house.

Beautiful villages dot the skiing paradise

On day two, you will explore the center of six high altitude resorts, the Plagne Centre. From here, you can get your bearings and find necessities, especially the medical center. It is likely that you found your lodgings in Plagne Center because they offer the most affordable accommodations. You will also be pleasantly surprised to find out that several nearby villages, such as the Champagny en Vanoise and the Montchavin, can be accessed using the free public transport. And finally, you wouldn't want to let the day pass by without a single downhill ride. Any of the ski resorts will do fine. But if it is towards the evening, you might want to be in Belle Plagne so you can mingle with the après ski crowd and savor the most delicious French dishes.

Enjoy a plethora of snow activities

On day three and onwards, you will try your hand at different winter sports. Day three will be dedicated to bobsleighing. The La Plagne ski resort is the only French holiday destination that has an Olympic-fame bobsleigh track. Choose your speed machine: the Bobraft, the Mono-Bob and the Taxi Bob. Then, hold on tight as you whiz through the track at nearly 60 miles per hour at more than thrice the Earth's gravity.

On day four, you will keep your adrenaline pumping by going to the Plagne Montalbert and joining the traineaux a chiens or husky sledding. After you shout "mush," your team of energetic huskies will zip through winding forest paths, sharp corners, and downhill slopes. Keep you sled upright. And whatever you do, don't let go.

On day five, you will want a change of pace and try a peaceful Nordic skiing. Nordic skiing is cross-country skiing. The La Plagne ski resorts have numerous cross-country trails that will suit any level of skiing skill.

See gorgeous sites along the skiing way

On day six, you can have a traditional sightseeing day. There are numerous winter walking trails in La Plagne. You can be glacier walking at the Glacier de la Chiaupe. You can visit the Grotte de Glace or the ice caves. Or you can give in to your daring personality and climb a frozen waterfall.

And on day seven, before you pack your clothes away, you can sneak in a pleasurable hour of tobogganing. And soon, it will be time to say goodbye to La Plagne. Fortunately, you have plans of going back during the next winter.
