The Six Flags Great Adventure is definitely a must see amusement park! Only 60 miles away from Newary, 67 miles from New York City, and 50 miles from Philadelphia. All one hour away from the tri-state area. One of the best places to visit that can pack you triple doses of memories.

Six Flags Great Adventure is right next to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. It is one of the biggest water parks in the entire United States of America. It also lies next to the Six Flags Wild Safari Animal Park. It's a drive-thru safari; home to over 1,200 different animals.

Great Adventure is famous for its exciting rides and it is also one out of two other Six Flags parks that would be opening "The Dark Knight" roller coaster in the summer. This contemporary ride is a fusion between the thrill of an indoor coaster, story-telling, and state-of-the-art special effects. You will actually be able to feel as if you were right in between the battle of good and evil. The Dark Knight is not just your ordinary roller coaster ride.

The opening of The Dark Knight Coaster was timed to open simultaneously with the release of the movie, "The Dark Knight" on the 18th of July. Since the ride opens on the 15th of May, the riders would be able to sneak a preview of the film.

Great Adventures will also be hosting a camp out with a scavenger hunt and a series of other contests. Eight lucky winners from the contests will be one of the first riders of The Dark Knight. The sleep over will be held in the Great Adventure parking lot on May 14. The fee to participate in the contest and get a chance to be one of the eight winners is $124.99.

Great Adventures is not only known for its fun and exciting rides, but they also have a lot of great shows and entertainment. The Starburst Thursday Night Concert Series will be returning this year with shows every Thursday night from June 29 to August 14. Last year, pop stars like Ne-Yo, Katharine McPhee and the Jonas Brothers were featured on Thursday concerts. There would also be a concert series every Sunday evenings in July and August called, the Sunday Rocks! Raven Symone is already scheduled to be performing on August 24. All of the concerts are included with the park admission or your season pass.

Great Adventure will also be showing the Glow in the Park Parade. This show will be presented every night and will feature state-of-the-art special effects with custom-designed floats. It will be accompanied by parade technology with characters, puppeteers, kinetic stilt walkers and much more.

The Six Flags Great Adventure will open during the summer season on May 15, 2008. General admission is priced at $59.99 and can be purchased online at a discounted price of $39.99. Children below 4'5" tall are $29.99 and children under 2 may enter for free.
