Thinking of getting out of your state or country? Imagining yourself in somewhere warm and almost tropical? If you're living in a place where snow seems to be the default temperature, then you owe it to yourself to spend time in Orlando! Aside from the warm weather, it is a place known for its many tourist attractions. An Orlando vacation is synonymous to a fun-filled and memorable one.
With an estimated population of about 185,951, Orlando sits in the county seat of Orange County as one of the best cities in Florida. The United States Census Bureau lists Orlando as occupying a total area of 261.5 kmイ (100.9 miイ). 242.2 kmイ (93.5 miイ) of land and 7.39% or 19.3 kmイ (7.5 miイ) of water. It also has a varied and rich history; the name itself is adopted in 1936 from a soldier named Orlando Reeves who died heroically during the war against the Seminole Indian tribe. Situated roughly 106 feet above sea level, Orlando has a relatively warm and humid climate.
There are two seasons annually in Orlando: the warm season and the cool season. The warm season normally lasts from May until October and it is usually spattered with heat and rain. Come November until the month of March, rainfall usually becomes less and temperature becomes cooler. Between December and May, Orlando experiences its driest seasons and during this time, Orlando is prone to wildfire hazards.
The Walt Disney World Resort is located in Orlando, having been formed there by Walt Disney himself back in 1965. The theme park is said to have raised the economic status of Orlando since then. Far from it being the only attraction, though, there are also others just as famous. For example, the world-renowned Sea World as well as the Universal Orlando Resort is also found in Orlando.
Today, Orlando has become a city known all around the world for its numerous theme parks and tourist attractions, with estimates of about 52 million tourists dropping in per year.
If you're still contemplating on going to Orlando this year for vacation, then just stop and definitely go. Surely a visit to Orlando will be an experience you will carry throughout your lifetime.
