Sick of Dieting: Sniff Your Way to Weight Loss Success

Fad weight loss diets don't work - period. And the sad fact is that nearly every new weight loss diet you hear about in the popular press is lust a fad diet. These diets, and many of the others currently doing the rounds, are just fads. They only work for a very short period of time, they only work for a small segment of the population, and most of the weight lost is quickly regained in a very short space of time.

Only a very few weight loss diets work for wide array of people, and these are the diets that don't try to impose some overly restrictive, and usually unsustainable system on people. They work because they appreciate and respect the way the body really was meant to work and they teach people how to succeed in the long-term.

For most people, eating is a very enjoyable experience. If food looks and tastes good and you're hungry, of course you want to eat. The problem with those who struggle with weight is that usually they eat at least a significant amount of food that isn't good for them. Most of these foods have tastes and smells that are irresistible, even though they're bad for your health when eaten in significant amounts.

It can be very difficult to maintain your distance from these foods so that you can stay away from them. This, in turn, means that a lot of diets simply don't work. If you include the fact that many people have established bad eating habits and have therefore become overweight, this eventually results in failure.

However, because people are individuals, metabolisms and tastes as well as other dietary factors differ. Different people can have different triggers that make them eat inappropriately, or turn to unhealthy foods.

There are a few people who struggle to gain weight the way most of us struggle to lose it. Some people should avoid simple carbohydrates because not doing so can make them prone to diabetes. Still others struggle with fat and cholesterol. This is why fad weight-loss diets simply don't work. Yes, they may work for some, but because we're all different, we need different tools.

But there is at least one new method of weight loss that is not a fad. One that does not make empty promises. This is a weight loss program that is not a diet at all. It is a holistic method that has been scientifically put to the test. This is one of those methods that pays respect to the way the body really works. It involves the taste and scent. And as they say, the nose knows.

Dr. Leon Massage of the Body Metabolism Institute is the Medical Director and founder of a respected and highly successful weight loss program in Melbourne, Australia. He was searching for a natural and non-drug way of helping his patients control their appetite and avoid the binges. During his investigations he came across some research that was done by the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago. This research was performed on a group of 108 overweight volunteers with an average age of 48, average weight of 197 pounds (89.5 Kg.), and average Body Mass Index (BMI) of 31 (any BMI over 30 is considered "obese").

The group was given two bottles of crystals, differently flavored, over six months time. The volunteers were asked to sprinkle these crystals on every meal. They were asked to continue eating and exercising as they normally did, with no changes. At the end of the six-month period, 92 of the volunteers had finished the study, or 85.1%. These people lost an average of 33.6 pounds, with an average weight loss of 5.6 pounds per month.

The trial concluded that certain tastes and smells could induce a very real sense of satiety. That is, they helped volunteers feel full. This occurred even if the same foods were eaten and volunteers did not perform any additional exercise over what they normally did. Because they did not have the desire to overeat or to eat in a way that was out of balance with their own personal chemistries, people could naturally begin to lose weight until they got to a personal ideal weight range for them, or a healthy BMI. They did not need to undertake unnatural or forced behavior patterns in order to lose weight.

Dr. Massage has created the BMI Weight Loss Wristband. The wristband utilises special scents that suppress hunger. The wristband is worn during the day; simply sniff the wristband when you feel tempted to eat more than you know you should. The wristband also uses something called neuro-association to strengthen the anti-binging eating effects of the smells impregnated onto the wristband. The smell of the infused scents create positive neuro-associations with these smells and tastes that result in hunger suppression.

This means that losing weight doesn't have to be a painful process. With Dr. Massage's wristband, weight loss can be painless, natural, effortless and permanent. The results denote visible success.
